path to gratitude

I thank you that you have given me.
that you gave me fighting spirit
that you gave me sense of power
that you freely provided
shelter for my body

I thank you that you have given me.
that you gave me good prospects
that you gave me a productive mind
that you freely provided education

I thank you that you have given me.
that you gave me a warm bedroom
that you gave me confidence
that you abundantly provided advice

I thank you that you have given me.
that you gave me food and fitness
that you gave me the belief in my own acting self
that you provided opportunity

I thank you that you have given me.
you gave me life
you gave me shelter
you gave me education
you gave me confidence
you gave me choices

Only thing left is to find my own way
in this big bad world,
skilled with all these strengths that were not mine.
amongst all those dangerous people
with so much to play as the currency of knowledge.

I fought, wriggled, complied, at times.

i rebelled, too, and i resented, conflicted, angered, contrasting,

i expanded, unlocked my inner own truths and treasures.

Found some wisdom on my way.
my path was set off by you,
it is for me alone to walk it.
